Dedicated To The Next World is AN refusing to rest on legacy. The legendary hardcore punk band returns with four new songs that sound like classic and future AN, stripped down and sped up to their trademarked urgency and live violence. With stream of conscious lyrics and existential dread, these are revival songs for the modern disenchanted.
"How I Got Away" recalls AN's anthemic hardcore sound ala tracks "We Are" and "The World Is Blue." "Self Check-Out" is a minute-long punk blister. "Real Love" flies like speed fueled Stooges and "Praying Hands..." nods to the influences of Bad Brains and Negative Approach.
Having started in 2000 and initially breaking up in 2004, the band reunited in 2012 and subsequently launched a second life of lauded shows and records proving that there is life after youth.
Recorded live to 2 inch tape by American Nightmare drummer Alex Garcia-Rivera at Mystic Valley Recording Studio in Boston. Mastered and cut for vinyl by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service.
Shipping late May 2023.
Track Listing:

02. Self Check-Out
03. Real Love
04. Praying Hands On Fire
Bridge Nine is proud to sponsor a special Walter Schreifels performance alongside our friends Hardcore Stadium and Triple B Records on Friday, February 24th at Zuzu at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA. This is an after party for the Gorilla Biscuits show earlier that evening, so if you’re down to stay out late, this starts at 11:00PM!
For Friday the 13th, we've dug into the t-shirt vault and brought back one of our favorites, this blood-spattered Bridge Nine t-shirt illustrated by none other than Linas Garsys (American Nightmare, The Hope Conspiracy, AFI). Linas was an early contributor to Bridge Nine's visual look through several of our album covers (American Nightmare's The Sun Isn't Getting Any Brighter, Cops & Robbers Execution Style, Striking Distance The Fuse Is Lit), as well as probably a dozen different t-shirt designs, many featuring his trademark blood spattering. Originally released in 2002 and briefly available with a slightly different design in 2013, we're bringing this skull design back for a limited time, printed on a black Gildan Hammer tee and in true early-2000s spirit, a black Independent Trading Post brand zip-up sweatshirt. Skull illustration pocket print on front, and a blood-spattered Bridge Nine logo on the back. Grab one online HERE and at the Bridge Nine record store in Beverly, MA while you can!
Sean Lipinski (Holding On, The Real Enemy, Regret, Sunset, Comeback Kid) passed away on December 27th, 2022 following complications from an aggressive brain tumor. His obituary can be found HERE.
I had a chance to get to know Sean over twenty years ago when he was a member of Holding On. They released an LP on Bridge Nine, toured the East Coast and Sean kept in touch long after the band broke up. He was always checking in and saying hello, he made connections with people everywhere and maintained them better than most. He will be sorely missed.
Sean leaves behind his wife Samantha and daughters Madeline and Tabitha. Please consider making a donation in Sean’s honor to assist his family during this time HERE.
Rest in Power, Sean.

On Monday, November 28, 2022, we were lucky enough to have War On Women stop by for our first in-store event. The band hung out with some fans and played a few acoustic songs; the full video, shot by Bill Fulkerson of OTC Industries Productions, is above and features songs “White Lies”, “Big Words”, and “Silence Is The Gift”.
The band left to kick off their East Coast tour with Cancer Bats at the Middle East in Cambridge that evening and sounded incredible. Be sure to check them out if they come through your city! Also be sure to join our mailing list, as we’re hoping to host more of our bands and artists in the future for free, intimate shows and in-store events.
From our friends over at UniteAsia.org:
YOOOOOOO…
Super stoked to join forces with Bridge 9 Records and all the amazing Asian promoters and announce that brand new NYHC band Roll Call will be hitting SE Asia in February of 2023. Some of the dates include them hopping on the already announced One Step Closer dates so MAD thank you to those promoters for allowing our boys to jump on.
Whenever we put these things together it always takes an immense amount of time and heart. None of these promoters do this for a living – it’s all a side gig that they do simply for the love of this music and culture. Often, they put on shows at a loss and they just quietly eat that shit. So big ups to any promoters anywhere on the planet who are still doing this shit on a DIY level putting in what they can, when they can to keep this shit moving.
Though Roll Call is a newer NYHC band, the members are veterans of the hardcore scene playing and traveling the world in acts like Outbreak and others. Mainman behind this beast is someone very familiar to Unite Asia – Brian Kemsley who we’ve covered extensively on the site on many occasions because of his time growing up in Hong Kong and through his Muaythai accolades (read about that HERE and HERE). But it’s his most recent project – a straight-up in-your-face hardcore band – that we’re stoked to talk about today.
“Cornell and I are both Muaythai fighters and will be in Thailand training this winter, so since half the band was already gonna be in Southeast Asia, we just needed to convince Chad and James to fly over in order to do some shows. Thankfully Riz from Unite Asia, along with each local promoter, was able to help us out. We’re a new band and grateful for the opportunity to play in Asia. I was born in Taiwan and grew up in Hong Kong, so this is extra dope for me to get to do this. Asia fucking rules!” states Brian when asked about his thoughts on finally getting to be in a band that’ll be playing out here in Asia.
We’ve teamed up with the following promoters so to get more details hit them all up directly! To read up more on the band hit up this link for a dope write-up on DSCVRD Magazine HERE.

Chris Wrenn showing off part of B9’s class of 2002
Twenty years ago today, Bridge Nine had the honor of releasing four killer albums. No Warning’s Ill Blood, Slapshot’s Greatest Hits, Holding On’s Question What You Live For and Ramallah’s But A Whimper. A few months later, we released Terror’s Lowest Of The Low EP and promoted them via our first promotional CD sampler, which we pressed 10,000 of and distributed for free. All of those records are monsters in their own right, and it helped document a very special time. Thankfully, most everyone from the class of 2002 is still out there crushing it, either in those bands, or in new projects! The spirit lives on and we are proud to have been a part of it.
These four were released on the same day, 20 years ago.
Albums by Slapshot, Holding On, Ramallah & No Warning

Services include haircuts, beard trims, and straight razor face or head shaves. Congratulations on the opening, Derek!
