Today is New Years Day, and for the occasion, we want to thank all of you for supporting us over the past year. We've undergone a lot of changes, ventured into new territory, and are excited to show you what we have coming up in 2024. Keep your eyes peeled for new releases, events, and collabs; they may be coming sooner than you think...

BHC Promoter Jimmy Flynn, RIP (1983-2023)

The Boston hardcore punk community lost a real one this week when Jimmy Flynn passed at the age of 40.

Jimmy was a character who loved all things Boston punk and Boston sports. He promoted punk shows under the name Hardcore Stadium and was one of the rare few who seemed to always manifest cool things into reality. Jimmy will be missed, and you can help properly send him off HERE.

DYS 'Brotherhood' LP: 40th Anniversary Pressing

Originally released in 1983 as the fourth title on Boston's iconic X-CLAIM! record label, DYS is celebrating 40 years of Brotherhood with a special edition of their classic LP. This anniversary pressing compiles both sides of the album as well as their song "Wolfpack" onto a single-sided LP, with a screen-printed B-side. This edition is limited to 1,000 copies available from Bridge Nine in two colors: clear vinyl (300 pressed) and translucent red vinyl (700 pressed).

Maximum Rock N Roll called this album a "contagious masterpiece." A part of the original Boston Crew, alongside S.S. Decontrol and Negative FX, DYS and their Brotherhood album influenced generations of straight edge hardcore punk bands, the youth crew movement, and deserves a place in any true hardcore fan’s record collection.

Earlier this year, DYS announced a series of 40th anniversary shows to acknowledge this milestone. Those were unfortunately canceled due to vocalist Dave Smalley’s struggles with a serious medical issue. Those issues are unfortunately ongoing and have resulted in significant medical expenses. For that reason, proceeds from this special edition are being donated to Dave Smalley's medical fund.

Death Before Dishonor Nominated In Boston Music Awards, Being Held Tonight

The Boston Music Awards are being held TONIGHT at Big Night Live! Death Before Dishonor has been nominated for best Boston Punk/Hardcore artist — wish them luck! There are very limited tickets left on the Boston Music Awards site.

Death Before Dishonor has announced a European tour coming in March 2024, and they have tickets for some dates available HERE.

This past Sunday, he had his friends and bandmates from ID join him alongside Chris Wrenn of Bridge Nine to discuss their debut album and more! Check it out HERE. Spinning Out Podcast host Josh Robbins and B9’s Chris Wrenn sat down and discussed the band Death Before Dishonor, their landmark album Count Me In (2007), and some of the behind-the-scenes going ons that were happening at the time, as well as updates as to what Bridge Nine is up to these days with their new store and warehouse performance space. Keith sits down with Mariel Loveland to discuss growing up in NJ, formative experiences in music, early influences, the early days of Candy Hearts, the band's early demos that turned Mariel on to the world of punk music, signing with Bridge Nine Records, working with Chad from New Found Glory on their EP "The Best Ways to Disappear" and their LP "All The Ways You Let Me Down", the difficulties Mariel has had navigated as a woman in the music industry and the end of Candy Hearts.

They also discuss Mariel's current solo work in Best Ex, the advent of the project, transitioning from a band to a solo artist, recording the debut LP "With a Smile", her creative process and more.

Defeater's 'Bastards' Music Video Turns 10

DEFEATER's music video for Bastards just passed its milestone anniversary of 10 years this past Saturday. This was an incredible video for an incredible song. Seeing the band perform Letters Home front to back recently really drove home how much their music and stories impacted so many people. As always, we're glad to have been a part of it.
