Expire's new video for the song "Abyss", off of their B9 debut album Pendulum Swings, premiered this morning on AltPress.com - check the video out right here
The video was filmed in/around the band's Midwestern headquarters, and Expire's guitarist Zach Dear said, "Filming the video was great. We picked to shoot at the Minneapolis and Des Moines shows so we could get a ton of friends in it while showcasing Midwest hardcore." Video director Ben Hagarty also chimed in and said, "I knew that the shows we would be filming (Minneapolis/Des Moines) were going to be insane, which got me super hyped to do the project; not to mention 'Abyss' is a fucking dope track. All the dudes in Expire are my brothers so anything we shoot is fun for me."
Expire hails from various states in the Midwest and plays hardcore the way it was meant to be. The band released a demo in late 2009, followed by the well-received Grim Rhythm 7inch in Spring of 2010. Expire went on to play Rain Fest, Sound & Fury and This is Hardcore that same year and released the Suffer the Cycle 7inch on Six Feet Under Records in Spring of 2011. Expire played United Blood and Sound & Fury festivals as well, and did a largely successful European tour last Fall with labelmates Foundation. This year, EXPIRE was named one of Alternative Press Magazine's 100 Bands You Need to Know, and did a U.S. run with The Mongoloids on their way to play New England Metal Fest, and a US run with Cold Word. No strangers to the road, 2012 will see Expire touring, touring, touring on their new album, Pendulum Swings
, that Alt Press dubbed "12 tracks of hard, heavy, angry, loud hardcore".
