Strike Anywhere tours Europe in 2017

November 29, 2016 Bridge Nine

Strike Anywhere is going on tour in Europe in 2017! Joining them for the journey is Petrol Girls from the UK with their ferocious and spirited hardcore. Old pals Bear Trade will also be joining them for the UK dates.... delivering some killer melodic punk.
They will be visiting the UK for the first time in 7 years, kicking it off at the Manchester Punk Festival... as well as shows in London, Bristol and the Exeter Cavern, which is one of their all time favorite venues. They suffered a terrible fire earlier in 2016, but will be back open and renovated in Spring 2017 and Strike Anywhere is proud to be a part of that celebration. They will also be visiting the Netherlands and Germany, including a stop at Jugendcafe Zwiesel, a special little village in Eastern Bavaria. Then closing things out at the mighty GROEZROCK festival in Belgium. Dont miss it!

Brooklyn Vegan 15 bands to see at FEST

October 28, 2016 Bridge Nine

War on Womens 2015 debut LP on Bridge 9 rips and their live show is even more powerful. Heres what I said about it when they opened for FLAG earlier this year: They make a hardcore with a message that iss very relevant and necessary right now - rape, abortion rights, street harassment and transphobia were just a few things they tackled during their set. They also have a killer rhythm section, sharp, loud guitars, and a truly unforgettable singer, Shawna Potter. The best hardcore shows are the ones where you can not look away or get bored, even if you try, and Shawna is a big reason War On Women puts on shows like that. She is sarcastic, angry, confrontational, and entertaining all at once, and it shows in both her delivery and her constantly-animated performance. Catch them at 9:40 PM at The Wooly on Saturday (directly before Floor and Negative Approach).

Expire announce breakup, more tour dates

August 8, 2016 Bridge Nine

Expire are sadly calling it quits after a few final rounds of touring this year and the next. Check below for a statement from the band, lots of upcoming international tour dates, and stay tuned for a With Regret pre-order soon.

"Come Spring of next year, we'll be putting the band to rest. There isn't some huge explanation to give. To put it simply, we all decided that we would rather end it on our terms and when we want to, rather than fade off. We've never been the type to only play a few shows here and there or sit dormant for any amount of time. Expire started as a band that didn't know how to slow down and that's the way we'll end it.

This band snowballed into something none of us planned for and before it's done, we want to extend a very real thank you to anyone and everyone who had a part in it over the past 7 years. Writing this comes with a pretty insane feeling, but really; thanks for supporting us, it's been fun.

Starting in September, we'll begin to say our goodbyes. Not even going to pretend like we will make it to every single city that's meant something to us, but we'll sure as hell try. Below are the dates we have as of now. Our final U.S. tour will be next spring so expect that to be announced sometime in the next few months.

Obviously with all of this being said, With Regret will be our final album. We could toss in one of a thousand cliches about it but simply put, it's the record we wanted to leave on.

We'll see y'all this fall

Marcus, Kip, Josh and Zach
