Defeater is excited to announce a string of shows taking them from the East Coast down to Austin, TX for SXSW and back again starting next week. Fresh off a very well-received West Coast tour with All Teeth and Touche Amore, this will be Defeater's first SXSW appearance as they will play alongside Goatwhore at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival showcase at Emo's Annex on March 19th.

Lost Ground, released in November of 2009, has been incredibly well-received by press and fans alike. While their debut, Travels, was called “a new artistic peak for hardcore” by Punknews and “the perfect definition of modern hardcore” by Lambgoat), Lost Ground has already surpassed the critical acclaim Defeater has received thus far. Lost Ground continues the story from Defeater's debut album, Travels, and follows a man's journey from enlisting in the military to post-war life and the subsequent events that follow.

Bay Area CA's CEREMONY are excited to announce the release of their third full-length, Rohnert Park, which will be available on June 8th 2010 via Bridge Nine Records. Rohnert Park is the band's finest material to date and mixes elements from their past work while exploring new territory for the band. This new album is equal parts aggressive and incendiary and, dare we say it, catchy. Don't let that fool you, though; Ceremony's punk stomp is apparent on Rohnert Park and Ross Farrar's vocals are as ranting as ever. Recorded this past winter in Oakland, CA with Dan Rathbun (Tragedy, From Ashes Rise), Rohnert Park is unsafe, noisy, dynamic, and pissed. And, most importantly, impressive.

Just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County is Rohnert Park, CA, where several members of Ceremony grew up. The band commented, "Where the owls can't seem to find, yet the geese are well known. Here, you are bound for the pageant, or bound for the bars. Fingers are pointed without the facts. Truth has no direction. You are useless here. Rohnert Park is desolate. Rohnert Park is majestic."

Ceremony has returned with a record that will cement them as one of the most destructive and meaningful bands that punk and hardcore has seen in years. Look for Rohnert Park in stores on June 8th - new music will be posted soon.

New Found Glory came through Boston with Saves The Day on their 10 year anniversary tour recently, and included their cover of "No Reason Why" by the Gorilla Biscuits in the set. We caught it on our flip cam, check it out HERE.

Of course, if you haven't picked up NFG's 2xCD release (w/ ISHC) you can grab one HERE. It has the studio version of this cover & 17 other songs!

After being out of press on vinyl briefly, we've brought in a new pressing of the PROJECT X EP, originally released on Schism Records in 1987 and re-issued by B9 in 2005. This edition is limited to 1,000 copies on clear vinyl, so I'd imagine it won't stick around too long. Grab one while you can!

Not familiar with Project X and their NYHC all star lineup? Check them out (and listen to a song) HERE.

Soul Control is pleased to announce their first US tour of 2010. Starting this Friday, Soul Control will be gracing the stage with various New England natives such as Daybreaker, Make Do and Mend, and Title Fight (to name a few) until the end of May. With a sound that started out as more straight forward mid-90's influenced hardcore, Soul Control has emerged with a noisier, looser full-length debut album, Cycles. Hailed as "stellar" by Scene Point Blank, Cycles ''takes hardcore in another, more unexpected direction- substituting every day breakdowns with head-spinning shoegaze jams,' (Beyond Race Magazine). Soul Control wears their influences on their collective sleeve and while Cycles is completely cutting edge, it still possesses the familiarity of their hardcore roots while showing the world just how loose and jazzy hardcore can really get.

Boasting a grandiose tour history, Soul Control is THE definition of DIY touring. Guitarist Jim Connolly said, "We don't wait around for offers, we just go. THis is how we do it- we tour hard." Soul Control has toured the US and Europe both solo and along-side peers such as Have Heart, Verse, Blacklisted, 108, Go It Alone and more. While Soul Control took a short break over the winter months, the band will be back at it for the remainder of the year. Spanning from March 5th until May 30th Soul Control will be on the road with everyone and anyone... here, there and everywhere. Don't miss your chance to see Soul Control showcasing live songs off of 'one of the coolest records to grace the hardcore genre this year,' (BRM). Tour dates can be found below. Stay tuned for more dates to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
